Young Candians are no longer a performing band.
Vancouver, British Columbia had a vibrant music scene in the late 70s and early 80's spawning bands like D.O.A., Subhumans, Pointed Sticks and the Young Canadians.
The line up of Art Bergmann (Vocals, Guitar), Jim Bescott (Bass, Vocals) and Barry Taylor (drums) were some of the best musicians in the city. In the two years they were together in 1979-1980 the band recorded and toured leaving behind a string of E.P's.
These recordings capture the energy of 1979 and fuse a British punk sensability to Midwest Power Pop in a way only Canadian bands can.
